Sunil Fotedar is the person who, in post-Exodus world,
made it possible for all KP related news and issues
to come to every KP’s desk. Additionally, Sunil ji
has, over the years, disseminated huge amount of
information on KP history, culture and customs, from
many varied sources, strengthening the sense of
identity and heritage among the exiled KPs.
Besides his efforts using his outstanding academic
background and IT skills, he has worked for KP
causes in the real world at the grass roots level,
out in the field. A typical example: about eight
years ago one evening he rushed all the way from
Texas, just to confront Ghulam Nabi Fai of Kashmir
American Council, who was to address a meeting here
in California. Sunil ji challenged Fai's claims of
'Freedom Movement' by a mass of pictorial evidence
of atrocities on KP’s. Same evening, soon as the
meeting was over, he rushed back to the airport and
back to Texas, to be at his job next morning! I
understand he has repeated such energetic, dedicated
efforts many times in US, and in India, thru his
many Community & Organizational contacts there.
Sunil ji’s standing for election is obviously not for
Politics, but for the Love of His Life. His deep
rooted, passionate feelings & efforts for
preservation of KP identity and culture, and his
feelings of sheer outrage at KP’s forced exile,
are very well known widely. It will be to great
benefit of KOA to elect him as President in this
election.
