Namaskaar!!
Few days back, we had shared with you what some of
the community members, who have worked with Sunil
on various community projects, have to say about
his work and him as a person. In continuing that
theme, we would like to share few more of such
opinions with all of you. And here these are:
Sh. J. L. Manwati from Kashmiri Pandit
Association, Mumbai, India
says:
'Each man is a hero and an oracle to somebody'.
True to this Emerson maxim, Shri Sunil Fotedar of
Texas, USA has flashed as a real hero and an
oracle to us at 'Project ZAAN' through his deluge
of e-mails, ever since Sunil jee came to know that
we have published the book "Basic Reader for
Kashmiri Language' in Devanagari, under the
Project ZAAN. We understand, he has been working
on Kashmiri website ceaselessly for many years in USA
and has created a comprehensive site http://ikashmir.org
wherein all the relevant information on Kashmir is
stored for curious knowledge seekers. They say,
'Man is only truly great, when he acts from the
passions'. Shri Fotedar has the right passion for
Kashmir and Kashmiri.
Sunil's persona has honesty, integrity, humility
and earthly root-related qualities ingrained in
him. His courteous and unpretentious way of
approach has even won over his foes to his fold.

Sh. Naveen Dhar from Illinois
says:
I
still remember the time I first met Sunil. It
was '97, I was new to US, had no car and was
still adjusting. Out of the blue one day, Sunil
called me on my office phone and said he was a
Kashmiri and wanted to meet me. He lived 45
miles away and said he'll come to pick me up, go
to his house for dinner and drop me back. I
couldn't fathom why somebody would drive more
than 180 miles and invite me home, when other
Kashmiri Pandits I knew and lived just as far
refrained from doing so. Getting to know Sunil,
I realized how much "Kashmiriyat"
burns within him. Over the years I have seen him
repeat the same with other KPs.
Sunil has selflessly worked for KP causes spending
a lot of personal time and money on the cause.
There is no comparison to the effort that Sunil
has put in and he stands way above anybody else
(No offense to past or current office bearers).
It's very easily to go for accolades and have your
picture taken with KPs and Camp people. But how
many have spent the time and shown constant
devotion to Kashmiri cause over the last decade
without any expectation. Truly people who want to
do things find a way without needing any
fame/praise.
I fully support Sunil Fotedar to be the next KOA
president. KOA with Sunil as its president will
have a much better future and will benefit from
Sunil's leaderships skills.

Dr. Ramesh Ganju from Massachusetts
says:
When I first landed in Houston ’s International
Airport , I was nervous, lost, and, for the first
time, without a home. I called Sunil Fotedar from
a payphone at the airport, and he came to receive
me in the middle of the night, with his
characteristic warmth, grace, and selflessness.
For the first two years of my stay in Houston he
helped my KP family lay our roots in the United
States without forgetting our roots in
Kashmir .
My story is a microcosm of Sunil’s invaluable
passion for the Kashmiri community worldwide. When
Kashmiris were forced out of our homeland, he
demonstrated his passion for our cause,
documenting and highlighting the plight of
displaced Kashmiris.
Sunil has already demonstrated his commitment
to “promote, preserve, and protect Kashmiri
Pandit ethnic and socio-cultural heritage” –
the mission of KOA. While others were busy
building future lives and careers in the US , he
sacrificed hundreds of hours of his personal time
to preserve our past.
Sunil’s personal qualities – his modesty, his
intelligence, his creativity, and his leadership
– would make him a good president. But it is his
proven record of demonstrated selflessness and
passion for our Kashmiri culture, history, and
community that makes Sunil Fotedar the best
candidate to lead our venerable organization, as
we build upon our past successes to create an
inspired, vigorous, and vibrant future, preserving
our culture and community for our young
generation.

It is evident from these opinions that Sunil is a
person with enormous capabilities,
passion, commitment, energy and concern
for our community.
We once again, request you to please trust
Sunil with your most important vote and
help him lead this organization of ours to newer
heights. Vote for Sunil is a vote for
change and vote for better future for us and our
future generation.
